TeamPex manages multiple delivery stations, 800+ vehicles and approximately 1,500+ employees across multiple states. The TeamPex business model centers around delivering packages for Amazon.com as a 3PL (Third Party Logistics) Amazon Logistics Business.

 

 

The Requirement

As a small logistics business, Teampex was looking for a local, forward-thinking software
consulting company to help them implement a logistics software. They needed to streamline their business’s day-to-day processes in order to maximize their delivery performance and reduce infrastructure costs.

During meetings at TeamPex’s Pennsylvania office, Teampex outlined their current logistics system – A standard Excel Spreadsheet used to track deliveries and manually calculate costs. TeamPex then tasked OST with creating a custom logistics web application to automate the
internal processes of their Amazon Logistics business, from driver management to profit/loss statements for each station.

The Idea

To best meet TeamPex’s requirements, OST’s data analysts interviewed TeamPex’s team and studied their step-by-step, internal work processes sheets. Through this research OST prepared a plan for TeamPex’s workflow, addressing all of their business and operations concerns individually.

For each functionality we worked on, designed mockups to keep the workflow simple and provide TeamPex a clear idea of the outcome.

    Solutions in the 3PL space rely on how the client can implement them. In order to make sure TeamPex was getting what they needed out of our software, OST checked in with TeamPex at each stage of development, centralizing all new functions on an easy-to-use dashboard.

    • Fully-Equipped Dashboard: The dashboard area of the web application allows for quick access of performance metrics for all or each station.
    • Station Management: All stations can be managed through this custom logistics software. We set up all processes dynamically so as TeamPex grows their business, they have the flexibility to add stations.

    Going the Extra Mile to Optimize User Experience

    Web applications should be easy and rewarding to use. The following functions aim to positively enhance the user interface –

    1. Real-Time Autosave: Multiple backend users can work on a single document without
      overwriting each other.
    2. Team Transparency: A user can immediately see all other active users working on the same sheet, making it simpler to coordinate tasks within a project team
    3. Online/Offline: To avoid data loss, the system automatically changes the color of a user’s inputted data when user goes offline
    4. Easy Navigation: A user can navigate the page with keys on the keyboard rather than
      relying on a mouse. Using arrows keys, the tab key or the space bar, a user can enhance his or her efficiency and overall work output
