About the client
An online medical information business serving Cyprus.
Know Your Doctor is an online medical information business that lists all health professionals located in Cyprus. The platform helps patients find the right health professional to suit their needs, whether by specialty, location, or service category. The site also surfaces health tips, 24-hour pharmacies, and other medical-care information that residents and visitors rely on.
The directory has grown from a single-purpose site at launch into a continuously engineered platform serving thousands of doctor profiles across multiple specialties. Patient-facing usability, search, and editorial workflows have all been refined over multiple platform generations.
Cyprus medical directory. Thousands of profiles. Patient-facing for all age groups.
Built for usability across age groups, with 24-hour response and weekend coverage.
The requirement
A medical directory that ages well, not just one that launches.
Know Your Doctor's CEO needed more than a one-off website build. The directory had to be designed for continuous evolution: new specialties, new content categories, new features, and most importantly new platform generations as web technology shifted underneath.
Three things were non-negotiable. Patient-facing usability across all age groups. An older Cypriot resident searching for a cardiologist had to be able to use the site as easily as a younger patient on mobile. Critical issue response within 24 hours so the directory stayed available. And weekend coverage, because health questions do not respect business hours.
The solution
Continuously engineered. Refreshed across platform generations.
OST built the directory in 2014 and has continued as the engineering team since. The relationship is structured around a project manager and an assigned technician, with about 70% of communication going directly to the technician for fast iteration. Weekly and monthly tasks, features, and modules are added as the directory grows.
When the underlying platform reached end-of-life, the team replatformed across major releases without breaking the catalog or the editorial workflows staff had built around it. Doctor profiles, specialty filters, location lookups, and editorial flows all carried forward across the migration.
A featured deliverable
Cross-generational platform refresh without breaking the directory
Most directory platforms break their content when migrating to a new technology stack. OST replatformed the Know Your Doctor directory across multiple major refreshes, preserving the doctor profiles, the search behavior, the URL structure, the editorial workflows, and the look-and-feel patients had grown used to.
Continuity is the deliverable. Patients who used the directory five years ago still find what they need. Staff who learned the editorial workflows in 2016 still know how to update content. The platform underneath has changed multiple times. The product has not.
Why longevity matters in healthcare directories
The platform is not the asset. The catalog and the workflow are.
- Doctor profiles survive across every platform refresh
- Editorial workflows carry forward so staff retraining is minimal
- URL structure preserved so SEO and patient bookmarks stay valid
- Search behavior consistent across generations
- Same engineering team retains 12+ years of context
- 24-hour critical response uninterrupted across migrations
- Weekend coverage for health-info site reliability
- Refresh cadence set by what makes sense, not what the platform forces
Ongoing partnership
OST has been the technology team since July 2014.
Know Your Doctor has been an OST anchor relationship since the directory launched. Same team, same accountability, across multiple platform generations and editorial expansions. The Clutch-verified review captures only the first three years of the relationship. We have continued for nearly a decade after that.
When a new specialty needs to be added, when a new content category goes live, when patients need a new way to filter or search, KYD talks to the same team that built the directory in 2014. That is what continuous engineering means in healthcare.

Continuous engineering across multiple platform generations. Editorial workflows preserved. 24-hour response. Weekend coverage. The kind of partnership that lasts more than a launch cycle.
