OpenSource’s client Fluehr tasked us with revamping the Fluehr website with the goal of improving functionality, reducing glitches and implementing a more streamlined design. Fluehr relies on its website to reach large portions of its client base. During Covid-19, walk-in appointments and in-person pre-planning meetings have become less feasible for some clients. Fluehr's website became its bread and butter for client engagement. Therefore, Fluehr was looking to rebuild their website to have an intuitive, easy-to-navigate user interface and no glitches to slow down the user journey.
Based on a one-on-one client interaction at Fluehr’s office in New Britain, PA (USA) OpenSource decided to approach Fluehr’s business and software needs at the user level. To maximize user satisfaction, we analyzed patterns of existing user behavior including clickthrough rates and percentage of visitors versus total website sales. The aim of the research phase was identifying areas where the user journey got slowed down by website glitches. Fluehr’s business needed a revamped website and their clients needed a smoother way to send condolences and arrange funerals during this unprecedented, difficult time.
Using the existing website as a base, OpenSource revamped Fluehr's website in terms of layout, design and functionality.
As many of the original sections in the website were static we added dynamic flexibility. We developed the functionality
FOR A SPECIFIC FUNERAL OR FAMILY
FOR A SPECIFIC OCCASION OR HOLIDAY
Because Fluehr’s website is so vital to the client’s business, Fluehr cannot afford to have any lag or downtime when users visit the website. OpenSource implemented a cleanup of the existing code on the website to ensure next to zero downtime during the user journey.
To ensure the client’s business was not impacted by the implemented changes to their website, OpenSource made all the changes on live during the Fluehr off-hours.
During this project, we focused on providing admins the agency to edit various functions on the backend to improve user experience. Fluehr’s next target is to automate all the main functionalities and setup SAAS based model.
Fluehr already has a valuable website built on hard-worked code. In future projects OpenSource would aim not to reinvent the wheel and tear down the whole site, but rather use the existing code, structure and methodologies to produce efficient, time-saving ways to automate payment and order processing – saving Fluehr time and energy that they can better use caring for their clients during times of grief.
